Have you ever been in a conversation and the topic of home repair or remodeling came up and someone inevitably would say they knew "a guy" that could do the job? The conversation may change somewhat,  but there is always someone that knows "a guy".

Well, the most memorable conversation i had concerning "the guy" occurred while on a family vacation and it changes my business life forever. My wife and I were visiting her mother in Georgia and i usually take this time to help out with small projects for "Granny" as we affectionately called her. I have been in the construction and remodeling industry for over 28 years, so performing small maintenance and repair projects was really more vacation therapy than work.

During my visit, I found a number of leaking faucets that needed repair. Coincidentally, my wife's brother also noticed the leaks and decided to approach Granny about fixing them. While we were gathered in the living room, he went up to Granny and informed here there were some repairs that needed to be undertaken and he would get right on them.

Without skipping a beat, Granny calmly turned her head in my direction and stated simply, "Don't worry about it; i know a guy." In that moment, I realized i had become "That Guy" and that the handyman and home remodeling buisiness i would later establish would forever be known as :Granny's Guy.". The rest, as they say, was history.
